I have a very difficult time retaining staff, simply because the work I can supply is far from regular. I generally need people to write for me, on average about twice a week, but someone committing to that obviously finds it hard to commit to any sort of full or part time roll anywhere else. I can understand the difficulty, but I have always found it hard to find staff in the first place so it is always doubly disappointing when they decide to move on. Fortunately I think that I have found a solution to the problem.
I normally advertise locally for freelance writers, which is both inefficient in terms of cost, and time consuming. I decided this time round that I must be getting close to exhausting the available workers in my area – so I decided to look online.
After a few days of difficulty finding anything at all, I finally came across a site which has lists and lists of people offering freelancing work! I couldn’t believe my eyes, because there were hundreds of people looking for work on a vaguely regular basis. This was perfect to me, and I could immediately see that it wouldn’t even matter if people decided to stop working for me – I had hundreds of ready made replacements all under one roof! All I needed to do was give a brief description of the sort of work I needed doing, and people would e mail me with their prices and availability! Problem solved and I am now one happy worker!
